Now in their second year, the Gladys Sangster Awards are intended to benefit students of musical promise at Local Authority schools, and consist of a mixture of lessons, travel and instrumental hire. Again this year, the Scholarship auditions took place entirely online by video submission. The panel was nevertheless impressed with the exceptionally high standard of musical and video quality achieved in extraordinary circumstances, and competition was fierce. The panel was however delighted to be able to award a significant number of part scholarships in addition to those listed above.
