Kathleen Cronie first studied for an MA in French and Gaelic Studies at The University of Aberdeen before moving on to graduate from the Bachelor of Music Degree at The Ian Tomlin Academy of Music at Edinburgh Napier University with first class honours, also winning The Harold Gray Prize for Singing.

After spending time working in London as a Talent Scout she then returned to Scotland and graduated with Distinction from the MMus in Vocal Music (Conducting) at The University of Aberdeen. Kathleen has been awarded a number of scholarships and prizes including The James Lobban Conducting Scholarship, The Carnegie-Cameron Taught Postgraduate Bursary and a King's College Chapel Scholarship.

In addition to teaching singing, Kathleen is also an experienced conductor and MD. She began her conducting career with Aberdeen Gaelic Choir, leading them on their Canadian tour. Spurred on by this success, Kathleen began to seek out conducting opportunities and training courses and studied with George Hurst at Canford Summer School of Music, Michael Harris at St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh and later worked with Scottish conductor Christopher Gray (Scottish Opera, Connect).

Kathleen is currently engaged in research in choral pedagogy, specifically the teaching of vocal skills to amateur choral singers.
